On Wednesday we make soup in our house. I try to get creative and not make the same exact soups each week. With the cool weather only in Florida for a short time I was thinking how yummy it would be to have a chili night. But if there is something I love no matter what season it is, its PIZZA! So I decided I'd make a Pizza Chili!
You will need:
1 lb of mild Italian sausage
1 can of kidney beans, drained
1 jar pizza sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
1 1/2 cups of water
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
6 oz package of pepperonis(I found the mini peps but you can cut up the large ones)
1 tbs Italian seasoning
1/2 tbs chili powder
1/4 tbs red pepper flakes
I added in onions and peppers to my chili for the toppings. But you could also add black olives, mushrooms or whatever else you like on your pizza!
First I cooked the Italian sausage in a pan and then added the peppers in onions once the sausage was fully cooked. Next, I added the cooked Italian sausage mixture and all other ingredients into a crockpot. I left the crockpot on low for 5 hours.
You can top your pizza chili with cheese or even make some garlic break croutons for the top!
Pizza night doesn't have to be just one day a week anymore! Such a fun dinner and the kids loved it!
