Since moving into our Tampa home in July of 2016 we have a multitude of projects on our list. We love doing home projects together. Projects are truely relationship tester! There have been many disagreements and even one time where I got in my car and left the house due to us arguing over the epoxy on our garage floor, that is a funny story and I'm glad we can laugh about it now. With that being said, yes, our relationship has survived a few projects...So far.
All of the projects we have done entirely on our own, the only exception to this was the install of our counter tops. We have lot more projects on the list to still complete, but I couldn't do it without Brian. He is the muscles behind the scene, I literally will tell him my ideas and he brings them to life.
Disclaimer: I am NOT a photographer. I take most of my pictures on my IPhone or my GoPro. Some of these pictures are from my sweet Sister in Law who is actually a photographer. On this post I will be sharing two of my favorite areas in our home, the kitchen and the back porch. Both where our higher budget projects and the two I am most proud of.
↠ Back Porch ↞
The previous owners had a LOVE for this awful yellow color. kid you not, it was in 3 other rooms in the house.
Before
This is a table frame I found in a dumpster, yes a dumpster, a few years ago. I thought it was so unique and I just could not let it go. We decided to paint the beautiful(and extremely heavy) cast iron base and Brian made me a red cider wood table top. Keep scrolling to see where this beauty ended up in our project!
After
We purchased all the travertie and Brian decided to lay it himself because it would save us literly THOUSANDS. He did lots of research on how to slope the porch so that water would run off properly during the rain. I am so proud of his hard work. It took him about a week it get it all laid out properly.
LOVE these lights Brian picked out *heart eyes*
Kitchen
The kitchen is my favorite makeover we have done. We did all the work in here ourselves except for our countertops. There where a lot of points along the way that I thought we where in WAY TOO DEEP, mostly when Brian was pulling out the old backsplash and the entire wall came down with it! But again, Brian kept proving me wrong and building my dreams.

I have always dreamed of having a white kitchen. When Brian was looking into purchasing this home I instantly fell in love with the open kitchen area because I knew it could look so beautiful with sparkling white counter tops that reflected the natural light coming in the french doors. The glass tile backsplash is my favorite part of the kitchen reno, it looks so clean and ties the crisp white cabinets and the quarts counter tops together perfectly.
We still have plenty more projects to complete, stay tuned.
What process did you use to paint the cabinets? What would do the same/different?
